Tartan Genesis Single Width –
The Tartan Genesis collection looks back through tartan’s rich history, culminating in a collection that is incredibly unique. Consisting of six historically significant patterns, this collection celebrates tartans before the uniformity of Clan setts. From Scotland’s oldest true tartan, through military use and the Jacobite Rising of 1745, to the period of Highland Revival where weavers put their mark on tartans continuation and endurance. For the first time in any stocked tartan collection, the traditional herringbone selvedge has been brought back to life – taking inspiration from a weaving technique seen across historical patterns. The single width cloth kilting selvedge The House of Edgar is known for remains, but with a little added extra detail in the form of around 1 1/2” of the herringbone structure creating extra detail, historic appreciation and intrigue to the cloth. Tartan Genesis gives you the opportunity to wear and enjoy a special moment from Scotland’s history.
Woven from 100% lambswool. Mediumweight/13oz. Width approx. 83cm.
Due to the large sett sizes, we recommend purchasing an extra yarn for kilts made from the Royal Archers, Jacobite Remnant and Lost Tartan patterns.
